It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Hawkins High School’s new website. It’s hard to believe another summer has come and gone! But I am excited to welcome our students back to HHS. We have some exciting things planned for this school year, and I look forward to introducing new staff as well as welcoming back many familiar faces. I am proud and honored to serve as the Executive Principal of this outstanding school.

My career in education began in 1988 at Mineola High School where I taught journalism, photojournalism and yearbook for nearly 20 years. From there I moved to Mineola Middle School and taught 7th grade journalism, 8th grade keyboarding, 6th grade English, yearbook, and 6th grade computer applications. After 26 years, I left MISD to serve as Secondary Principal at Yantis ISD where I gained invaluable knowledge and experience as an administrator. The 2016-2017 school year marks my 29th year as an educator.

I was raised in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex where I attended Trinity High School in Euless, Tx. Upon completion of my Bachelor's degree in 1986, I moved to East Texas (Hoard) from Nacogdoches. In 1992, I attended East Texas State University in Commerce and received my teaching certificates. Later, I studied psychology, sociology and communications at UT-Tyler and received my Master’s of Science degree in 1997.

This community of Hawks - students, parents, teachers, staff and administration - make up a group dedicated to excellence. Hawks value education, character, sportsmanship, integrity, hard work and perseverance. I am excited to be a part of the caring and competent staff of Hawkins High School, and I am dedicated to working together with school personnel and community members to make this school year the best it can be for our students.

Parents and community members are invited to join the staff of HHS in an effort to cultivate students who measure success by how much progress they have made in their lives thus far. Failure is just another step toward success. Perseverance leads to growth and growth is the true measure of success, so Let’s Grow Together HAWKS!!
